-How can I post bond for an inmate?
Cash bond can be paid at either the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department or the Monroe County Circuit Clerk’s Office.
The Circuit Clerk’s office is open Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm and located in the Monroe County Courthouse.
Cash Bond will be accepted 24/7 through the teller in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Department.

-What is Commissary?
Commissary is a privilege in which inmates may purchase assorted food items, hygiene products, electronic cigarettes, or phone cards.
INMATES THAT ARE ON LOCKDOWN ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR COMMISSARY PRIVILEGES. NO EXCEPTIONS.

-How do I put money on an inmate’s books?
Cash is accepted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Department. If the interior doors are locked there is a phone in the vestibule to alert the dispatcher on duty that you wish to leave money on an inmate’s books.
Money Orders are also accepted and can be sent in through the mail. Personal checks, as well as cash sent through the mail, are not accepted.
-What can I bring an inmate who is currently incarcerated?
Inmates at this facility are allowed the following items:

3-White Pairs of Underwear
All clothing must be new, unopened, and still in the original packing. Any and all clothing with additional color or writing will be denied.
Items brought in by inmates during arrest will be placed in inmate property while being booked. All items will remain in inmate property and returned upon release.
-Can I bring inmates books, magazines, personal items, etc.?
The Monroe County Jail only accepts books and magazines that are new and mailed directly from the publisher or from an online store.
-What are the inmate visiting hours?
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
Only ONE visiting session will be allowed ONCE every SEVEN days.
*The amount of people allowed in the visiting room during a session is at the discretion of the corrections officer on duty.
