The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department offers video visits. All visits are recorded and monitored. Any violations of the visitation rules may result in termination of your visit and/or suspension of your visitation. Inmate visitation is a privilege. Inmates who become disciplinary problems, security risks, or a physical threat to staff members may not be allowed to receive visits. 

Individuals who enter the secure perimeter of this facility, and any property they bring into the facility (e.g., purses, cases, baby strollers), are subject to search if there is reasonable cause to believe the visitor has:

a. Violated the law.
b. An outstanding warrant.
c. Attempted to bring contraband into the facility property or into the facility.

All searches shall be made in accordance with current legal statutes and case law and there shall be a conspicuously posted notice advising visitors that they are subject to a search if they enter the facility (20 Ill. Adm. Code 701.200(c); 20 Ill. Adm. Code 720.70(i)).
