Sheriff Neal Rohlfing of Monroe County, Illinois, has been serving as the sheriff since December 1, 2014. Under his leadership, the Monroe County Sheriff's Department has implemented several key initiatives aimed at enhancing public safety and preparedness. These include training citizens for Active Shooter situations, creating an inner-county drug taskforce named ACE, and joining the Joint Terrorism Task Force to ensure the community has access to the most current information regarding potential terrorist threats.

With 17 years of diverse law enforcement experience, Captain Mueller brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of effective leadership. His oversight ensures that these critical areas operate seamlessly, contributing to the overall safety and security of Monroe County. A lifelong resident of the county and a graduate of Columbia High School, Captain Mueller’s dedication to the community is matched by his commitment to excellence in all aspects of departmental administration.

Introducing Captain Justin Biggs, a distinguished law enforcement veteran with 25 years of dedicated service across various critical roles.  Captain Biggs has brought his extensive experience to the forefront of community safety. Currently, as a Captain over the Criminal Investigation Division and Special Operations, he oversees the thorough investigation of person crimes, property offenses, and narcotic cases, ensuring justice and peace for the residents of Monroe County.
